How secure is information about me?

At Mount Carmel Magazine, we know you care about how your information is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we do so carefully and sensibly. This notice describes our privacy policy.

Mount Carmel magazine is a publication of the Discalced Carmelites of the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCD) fully respects your right to privacy and will not collect any personal information about you on this website without your permission. Any personal information which you volunteer to us will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. We undertake to do the following.

  • Any information that you provide is used by us only in line with the purpose for which you provided it. 
  • We work to protect the security of your information during the transmission by using Secure Socket Layet (SSL) software, which encrypts information you enter.
    We only share any relevant personal data with necessary third parties for the purpose of fulfilling your purchase order.
  • Your personal data may also be anonymised and used for statistical purposes. 
  • On the other hand, it is also important for you to protect against unauthorised access to your password and your device. Be sure to close your browser when you have finished using a shared device.

Requesting data

On request, we supply copies of your personal data which you may have supplied via this website. If you wish to obtain your data, you should include any personal identifiers which you supplied earlier (e.g. Name; address; phone number; e-mail address). Your request will be dealt with as soon as possible and will take not more than 30 days to process.

If you discover that the information we hold about you is inaccurate, please let us know and we will correct it. In certain circumstances you may also request that data which you have supplied be deleted. Once you inform us of your wish, we will delete your data immediately.
