He gives the light
They respond with song
Birds greet with the dawn
At the rising of the sun.

Earth covers seeds
Nurtures it within
a dark and humble heart
is waiting for the spring.

And so the light increases
a seed puts forth its leaves
though the world may fall to pieces
thank God for the trees.
