Therese - you are my friend and trusted guide - your Little Way, for sure, is right for me, though I’ll admit, I’ve sometimes looked to see what other routes there are, that I’ve not tried… Yet having searched with care, and far and wide, it’s clear an excess of diversity, or restlessness, or curiosity, can lead along false trails, where perils hide. I have no doubt what’s best for me: remain upon your Little Way - the path I know to be straightforward: safe, and sure, and sane; it doesn’t strive to soar, but stays below, avoids high mountain peaks, and hugs the plain, then lingers by small lakes, where lilies grow.

The author, now long retired, spent much of his working life representing an international commercial company, first in Liverpool and later in London, where his responsibilities included work with Spain. His lifelong love of Spanish language and literature was shaped in part by summers spent with a Catalan family in his youth. Inspired by his ‘hero’, Professor E. Allison Peers, he has developed a deep interest in the Spanish spiritual classics, particularly those of Carmel. He holds a B.A. Honours degree in Spanish.
